1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, configure brand scans, or contact us for support. This includes your name, email address, company name, billing information, and any brand or category data you enter into the platform.

When you use PeriscopeAI, we automatically collect certain usage data, including log data (such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps), device information, and interaction data about how you navigate and use the service.

We may also receive information about you from third-party services such as Stripe (payment processing) and Supabase (authentication and database infrastructure), consistent with their own privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the PeriscopeAI service, including processing your scans, generating reports, and sending you notifications about scan results and account activity.

We use your email address to send you transactional communications related to your account (such as scan completion notices, billing receipts, and security alerts). With your consent, we may also send you product updates and promotional materials, which you may opt out of at any time.

We use aggregate, de-identified usage data to understand how the product is used and to improve features. This data does not identify you individually.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party AI Model Providers

The core function of PeriscopeAI is to query third-party AI models on your behalf and analyze the results. To do this, we transmit the brand names, category descriptions, and generated prompts you configure to third-party AI providers via OpenRouter, an AI model routing service. The AI providers whose models are currently used include OpenAI, Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), and Perplexity.

The data sent to these providers consists of the prompts we generate — typically questions framed around your brand or category — and does not include your account credentials, payment information, or personal contact details. Responses received from these models are stored in our systems as your scan results.

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy and terms of service. By using PeriscopeAI, you acknowledge that your brand and category data will be processed by these third-party AI services as part of delivering the platform's core functionality. We use commercially reasonable means to select providers with appropriate data handling practices, but we do not control how these providers process requests on their infrastructure.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and scan data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Scan history retention depends on your subscription plan.

If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or billing records).

5. Sharing of Information

We share your information with third-party vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting and database infrastructure (Supabase), transactional email delivery (Resend), and product analytics (PostHog). These service providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.

We may disclose your information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, applicable law or legal process, including lawful requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the service, remember your preferences, and analyze usage patterns. Product analytics are provided by PostHog, which collects usage data linked to your account. Essential cookies are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled.

You can control the use of non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of PeriscopeAI.

7. Push Notifications

If you opt in to browser push notifications, we collect and store your push subscription token — a device- and browser-specific identifier issued by your browser's push notification service (such as Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging). This token is used solely to deliver scan completion and account alerts to your device.

You can revoke push notification permission at any time through your browser or device settings. When you do, your subscription token is no longer used to deliver notifications. You may also manage notification preferences from your account settings.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest.

However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems or your information. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at hello@periscopeai.app.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You may update or correct information about yourself by logging into your account settings. You may delete your account and personal data through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@periscopeai.app.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, port, or restrict processing of your data. Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR respectively. Residents of Japan have rights under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).

Residents of California (USA) have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. 10. International Data Transfers

PeriscopeAI is operated from Japan. If you are located outside Japan, your information will be transferred to and processed in Japan, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Japan's personal data protection framework is governed by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).

By using PeriscopeAI, you consent to the transfer of your information to Japan and its processing there in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

11. Children's Privacy

PeriscopeAI is not directed to children under 16 years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will delete that information promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your continued use of PeriscopeAI after any change to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
